About

Hi, I’m Lilian.

I guide breathwork and teach yoga.

What fascinates me most is how different life can feel when we become more present in the body. Breath, movement and stillness are some of the ways I keep exploring that.

How I got here

There was never one big turning point. Curiosity about consciousness, inner experience and spirituality has returned in different forms throughout my life.

As a teenager, that meant meditation, books and a lot of questions. During lockdown, yoga became an essential part of my life, and around the same time I first came across Conscious Connected Breathwork.

When I chose to continue with a master’s instead of starting over with a psychology degree, I decided to do a yoga teacher training as another way of exploring the inner world more deeply.

Then, I immersed myself in Conscious Connected Breathwork. During one of those sessions, something became very clear. I wanted to learn how to hold space for this myself.

That eventually took me to Thailand for a breathwork teacher training and internship, followed by Vipassana. Those experiences strengthened the sense that this was not just something I was interested in, but a path I wanted to give space to.

Moments of interconnectedness, altered perception and shifts in my sense of self made me even more fascinated about consciousness, the many ways we can perceive the world and how different traditions try to make sense of it.

Somewhere between experience and research

I’m deeply interested in subjective experience, but I also like asking what might be happening underneath it.

My academic background is in engineering, applied mathematics and physics, so research, systems and asking slightly too many questions come quite naturally to me. Alongside my own practice, I keep finding myself reading about physiology, psychology, the nervous system, consciousness and the different traditions these practices come from.

I try to keep a distinction between what research is exploring and what I simply know from my own experience. For me, those perspectives do not have to compete. They can make the questions more interesting.
